This book is great for new parents. The book explains how the one-teat preference behaviour across the mammalian spectrum is displaced onto thumbs or dummies when the mother's nipple (teat) is not made available.

Elsie Mobbs is a mother of five and grandmother of twenty two grandchildren. She has academic qualification is nursing, teaching and psychology. Her PhD was completed within the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Sydney, Australia. While writing her book she has been working in the perinatal and infant mental health service in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia. Elsie Mobbs has presented her theory of oral human imprinting at international professional conferences. Her small book is easy to read for new mothers as well as for professionals.
